We Can Never Forget the Terror That Continues

We can never forget the terror that continues to motivate the F.E.A.R.*( of Death), that lies behind the in-actions of Victims of Racism (White Supremacy) who want to resist Racism (White Supremacy), but have not yet converted that want into the burning desire that is needed to do so. The link below may help them to increase that desire. I sure hope so.

History of "Strange Fruit" documentary

"Strange Fruit" Lyrics
Southern trees bear strange fruit
Lynched Victim of Racism Micheal Donald
Blood on the leaves and blood at the root
Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze
Strange fruit hanging from the popular trees

Pastoral scene of the gallant south
The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth
Scent of magnolias, sweet and fresh
Then the sudden smell of burning flesh

Here is a fruit for the crows to pluck
For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck
For the sun to rot, for the trees to drop
Here is a strange and bitter crop

  1. I did a post after Halloween about these two men in Canada who WON A COSTUME CONTEST for portraying a Klan member and a lynched man. Complete with robe, hood, noose, and black face. I was looking for an image to portray the reality of lynching, and came across this same photo. I was not aware of Michael Donald previously. It boggles my mind that people can see an image like this and think "Wow, this would make a great Halloween costume!" And that the 200 people at the party would cosign their racism by rewarding them with a win!

  2. I am still learning about Racism (White Supremacy) and can not see the Racism in what these two men did. To help eliminate my confusion. Please explain in detail how this act that you described was an act of Racism?

Were all of the 200 people at the Halloween party, people classified as "white"?

Who were the two individuals that wore the costumes?

  3. I think making a mockery of the reality of lynching is a racist act. Using the suffering of Black men at the hands of whites for entertainment purposes is pretty racist to me. Most of the people at the party were white, however not all were. No one stood against these men until the next day, when calls began to pour in from people who decided they wanted to express their opinion from the comfort of their own home, with total anonymity. I do not know who the two individuals were, except that they were two white Canadians who decided it would be cute to mock the very real suffering of Black men who have been lynched throughout the years.

  4. Thank you for answering my questions.
To be clear, are you saying that "white" people "making mockery" of lynching "black" males in a way that is entertaining to other "white" people mistreats "black" people? If so how? And what should be done to stop it?

  5. I believe it is a form of psychological torture that is detrimental to the esteem of all non-white people. I believe that it is also a symptom of the way white people look upon nonwhite people as less than human. I believe that mental abuse is just as harmful as physical or economic abuse, and helps perpetuate the system of white supremacy by reinforcing negative impressions of nonwhite people as not worthy of respect. I believe events like this help reinforce a sense of superiority in white people AND program a sense of helplessness into nonwhite people. This, of course, is all just my opinion, and I could be wrong. As for what can be done to stop it? I do not know. As long as the majority of white people are willing to accept and look past events like this, they will continue to occur. All of the protestations of nonwhite people will not convince white people to give up their degrading and evil behavior. So, the only way to stop things like this from occurring is to make the consequences so unbearable as to convince people to stop participating in this behavior, and sadly, since white people are the ones who are most able to enforce consequences, it would take a huge change in the mindset of the white collective to stop these type of activities. Short of a violent uprising, I do not see nonwhite people being able to create such a large change in the behavior of whites.
